What to expect on a first visit

St. Vartan describes itself: “Armenian Apostolic Church & Ararat Armenian Community Centre of BC.” Expect ancient liturgy engaging all the senses — chant, incense, and icons. Much of the congregation stands, and people come and go quietly during the long service; arriving mid-liturgy is normal and unremarkable. Music is chanted liturgy, largely a cappella. Children's programming or nursery care is available.
